How Corporate Interior Impacts Workplace Comfort

Redesign Your Corporate Interior For Increased ProductivityThe construction of a workplace and design of a corporate interior can make a huge difference in worker comfort resulting in increased productivity. A large range of factors can contribute to how happy, healthy and satisfied employees are in the workplace.

Office Building and Corporate Interior Research

Based on research, corporate facility engineers have a lot to consider when designing a building. Our philosophy is first to understand, then provide appropriate solutions and designs, not born out of our personal preferences, but incorporating experience from previous successful projects, that align with our clients desires.

World Green Building Council Report

The World Green Building Council put together a report on “Health, Wellbeing & Productivity in Offices” to explore the relationship between office design and office users. The World Green Building Council is a network of national green building councils in more than one hundred countries, making it the world’s largest international organization influencing the green building marketplace. The report investigated a range of office design factors including air quality, ventilation, temperature comfort, daylighting, layout, etc and their effect on the health, wellbeing and productivity of its occupants.

Healthy, Productive and Green

There is overwhelming evidence which demonstrates that the design of an office impacts the health, wellbeing and productivity of its occupants. Below are a few inserts from the report, “Health, Wellbeing & Productivity in Offices.”

“We have addressed very transparently the ways in which strategies to maximize health, wellbeing and productivity outcomes are compatible with (and even enhanced by) strategies to minimize energy and resource use. It seems there is often a ‘virtuous circle’ of good design that works for both people and planet, for example maximizing daylight, enabling user control and designing in biodiversity.”

“In any case, the report findings undeniably affirm that buildings can maximize benefits for people, and leave the planet better off as well. Low carbon, resource efficient, healthy and productive – fundamentally, this is about higher quality buildings.”

“It should be self-evident that small differences can have a large effect. What may appear a modest improvement in employee health or productivity, can have a significant financial implication for employers. This equation is at the heart of the business case for healthy, productive offices”

Workplace Environment Essential to Worker Health and Productivity

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) also stresses the importance of a workplace that is well-designed for employee health to include temperature, humidity, light, noise, ventilation and overall space. A well-designed and healthy workplace ensures the comfort of all employees.
