Solar Could Influence Independent Voters In US Swing States
A new poll commissioned by The Alliance for Solar Choice sheds light on the impact that solar could have on independent voters in swing states during the upcoming US presidential election. Public Opinion Strategies conducted the poll among 600 independent voters in 11 key swing states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. “90% of polled voters favored increasing the use of solar energy, while just 7% opposed it.” PV Tech Reports
Europe’s Largest Floating Solar Farm Powers Up
More than 23,000 solar photovoltaic panels floating on the surface of the Queen Elizabeth II reservoir outside of London are powered up to supply energy to a nearby water treatment plant. Reuters Reports
New Ornl Techniques Could Improve Performance of Solar Cells
While solar cells made from light-harvesting perovskite (an organic-inorganic hybrid) materials have recently reached the 20 percent efficiency mark, researchers believe they could do better if they had a clearer picture of energy flow at the nanometer scale. New Ornl techniques will aid in improving solar cell performance. Solar Thermal Magazine Reports
New York Passes Regulations To Help Boost Solar
The New York State Public Service Commission announced new regulations that claims will make it faster and easier for solar energy, microgrid and other distributed generation (DG) projects to connect to the electric grid. These regulations will help advance the development of renewable power throughout the state. Solar Industry Mag Reports
